Artist's Comments

It took me nearly 5 years (mostly because of school and my parents moving) but I have finally completed it!

This was the most complex picture I have ever done with over 50 colours. Also, most of the stiching done on his clothing were combinations of two different colours of thread. I hate working with beads and gold metallic but they do look great. I love the frame too, the black bamboo goes great with the picture in my mind.

On the side, I entered him today in the local fair. Wish me luck!

Thank you, its great when all your hard work comes together.

Ah, that's just gorgeous! Your stitches look so even and clean; metallic thread is such nasty stuff, too. Do you ever come up with your own patterns? (just curious)
:iconstudyingdragon:
As of yet I've only done little things (mainly bookmarks and the like when I was younger). I'm planing to make my next project a semi-original by taking a picture and converting it into a cross-stitch work. Up till now I've really only bought kits.

Finally after more than 5 years... but damn were they worth it!

That's a cool idea. I bet that there's computer program somewhere that would help you with converting your picture into a certain number of colors and squares - not that I would have any idea what, exactly, heh.
:iconstudyingdragon:
Actually I picked one up recently second hand and that's what inspired me. I have some pics I'm thinking of converting; mostly fan pics as I can't find them as kits, lol.

When you wish upon a falling star, your dreams can come true. Unless its really a meteorite hurtling to the earth which will destroy all life. Then youre pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for. Unless its death by meteor.

Thank you, it did take a while, but was well worth the time and effort.
